My New Apartment

I'm having a little trouble posting these days, as I'm running into some obstacles in getting my new laptop.

But in the meantime, I am *loving* my new apartment. Whenever I feel sad and blue over my breakup, I focus my attention on how thankful I am for my new home.

From my living room and kitchen windows, I can see both the Golden Gate Park and the downtown San Francisco skyline. Both sites fill me with awe over-and-over again.

My kitchen is so sweet. I've got gorgeous granite tile counters and a beautiful ceramic tile floor. And the kitchen is off the living room and has a space for a kitchen table. I've always wanted a kitchen off my living room so I could socialize while cooking. Not that I cook. Ha ha ha. ;-) But maybe this will actually inspire me to start cooking. [We'll see about that.]

My bathroom has beautiful marble-like tiles in the shower and a pretty porcelain sink stand thingy. Okay, I don't even know what fixtures like that are called, because I've never had them before!

And I'm most happy because I've really pared down my *stuff*. I left lots of *stuff* for C; put lots more into my storage unit and have only brought my essentials and the most sentimental *stuff* into my living space. It's so refreshing to have open space instead of all of my standard clutter. I'm sure this is much to C's chagrin, as she had to live amongst all of my clutter for over nine years.

I do fear that I'm becoming a bit of a yuppy. I liked the urban, grungey, artsy feel of the Lower Haight (where I lived with C). As much as I adore my new building and my new home, I miss the edginess of living in squalor. :-) I was definitely very sad to leave my old neighborhood. But hopefully my new neighborhood will grow on me.

Comments:
Your apartment sounds just beautiful.

Being a major cluterbug, I can only imagine how nice open space must be!

The view sounds magnif!

And I forgot to mention to track lighting! I have never had track light and have never thought much of it before, but now that I have it, I am so enthralled with how different the world is with these mix-matched shadows cast all about.
