Dolls

When I was about 10 years old, I was just beginning to outgrow having dolls. I never liked baby dolls. I was all about Barbie. There was nothing more appealing than a physical representation of my fantasy image of my future. Yes, that is me on the left, holding a very tiny doll with pink hair. I was convinced that I was in love with that doll. That is my adorable younger sister on my right, looking on at my beloved doll with envy. ;-)

Of course, as the next image reveals (taken of me in 1999)... I didn't turn out exactly as I'd expected. I'm certainly no Barbie. Though perhaps the doll with the funky pink hair can be given credit for that twist to my fate. ;-)

Of course, I no longer have blue hair. I had to wear a wig to work for the five months I kept my hair that color. There was a company policy against "unusually colored hair." Fortunately, at the hospital I now work for, there is no such policy. There is even a doctor who has blue streaks dyed in her hair. My hair is back to a somewhat natural color these days, however. In fact, my hair looks surprisingly similar to how it looked in the earlier photo from when I was about ten.

Okay... Can you tell that I finally have my home computer operating again - now that I'm going photo crazy with this post?
