My Kick @$$ Neighborhood
Last night, I was walking home from dinner with a friend. It was about 10:45 at night. The air was cool, but none too cold. San Francisco weather is so delightful that way. I passed about eight people on every block. Just the right number of people to feel safe walking alone at night, but not too many to feel annoyed by crowds.
I could never afford to buy anything in this city. But I don't know that I could ever leave either. It's just so perfect. I feel so lucky, especially on nights like last night.
I've lived in the Bay area for almost 8 years now; San Francisco proper for about three years. I've worked in San Francisco for all 8 years. And my love for this city never grows old.

I envy that feeling. I want so desperatly to have a home base right now that I have to be careful not to compromise my goals for the sake of security. I don't know I could ever really be happy with a city, but I do appreciate the dynamic of having so much available at any hour of the day. Happy new year, by the way.
i feel the same way about Chicago. i love the change of season even though i'm slow to welcome the winter. spring is my favorite.
happy new year girl!
