The Pursuit
C and I were debating whether we tended towards pursuing others romantically or if we preferred being pursued. Of course, being relatively monogamous, we don't do either anymore. So most of our data was pre-matrimony.
Personally, I have always preferred to be the one doing the pursuing. I've always been a sucker for the thrill of conquest. It took me years to find joy in being courted by someone. But thank god I did, as C most definitely courted me the last time we got back together. Though she mixed it with a little "playing hard to get," which certainly got my attention.
The dynamic was unusual from her standpoint as well, as 99.9% of the time C prefers to be pursued.
You'd think - okay I like to pursue and C likes to be pursued, we would be a match made in heaven. A perfect fit. But it somehow seems fitting that we both reversed roles when we first got involved.
What about you? Do you like to be pursued or do the pursuing?

I like to be the one doing the pursuing...so that I can feel victorious after the conquest (fuck, that sounds egotistical), or so that I can beat myself up when I don't succeed...
hmmm....i like the hunt...the tease play, and the succeed....once i've succeeded, i usually run in the other direction. when someone actually pursues me, that's their best shot at getting anything more than just sex. i think. confused? so am i.

I don't know, really. I like to be persued, because even if I have a major intrest in the other person I won't go after them. I'll flirt and be coy, but I won't hunt him down... UNLESS he ignores me, then I stalk....er...persue... until I know for sure that I have his attention, then I flit away and lose interest.

Pursuer - I'm sure it has to do with being in control, and my fanatacism for a good challenge. I'm sure.

i like to be pursued but only by the one i'm interested in. unwanted attention is uncomfortable for me. i also don't mind pursuing as long as the interest/flirting is mutual.
