Infidelity Gene?
In a study at St. Thomas' hospital in London inquiring about the sex lives of 3200 adult female twins, scientists found that there may be a genetic predisposition of some women towards infidelity.
"...if a woman is unfaithful, her identical twin sister would be twice as likely as average to be unfaithful as well. A non-identical twin sister of an unfaithful woman would be 50% more likely to have an affair outside marriage."
The scientists identified three of the 23 pairs of human chromosomes that they believe are responsible to some of the traits associated with female infidelity.
I wonder if these genetic traits relate back at all to people who practice polyamory. I'd love to see that study done.
What do you think?

more stuff to beat those naughty chromosomes with. i'm begining to think man is good inspite of himself. :)
"Unfaithful" is such a negative word. Sometimes polyamory gets thrown into that category which is a shame.
as far as our genetics go we are designed for multiple partners, or harem situations. (mainly 1 male, multiple females)
genetics aside, we decide to cheat or not, not our DNA.
we've all had chances to do it, we all have the ability, but we have the control.
mmmm... polyamorous twins...

Okay, I should have seen all those twins jokes coming.
Gulnaz - The struggle between good and bad. I'm not sure either side always wins.
Jenny - My bad. You're right. This was a terrible philosophical leap, especially considering where my own beliefs lay. While I feel strongly about my beliefs on an intellectual level, sometimes it would be nice to lean on a genetic excuse for my feelings.
Exile - That is so sexist and heterosexist of you to deny me my own harem (of mixed genders, thank you) based on my gender.
Transience - Definitely. We all have lots of control over our actions.

Oh, it wasn't a diss on you, Sk8, just a thought about the study/research in general, also just a random thought about how polyamory gets incorrectly IDed as cheating.
