I Just Don't Get It
Tescosuicide tagged me for this one and you can probably tell that his answers inspired some of my own. Sorry, kids, sk8rn is a wee bit tired this morning...
"Five things society at large enjoys, but that I, for the most part, just don't get."
1. SUVs in cities - unless you're going to be doing some serious off-road driving or rescuing people trapped in snowstorms, I don't understand why people would spend so much money on gas to drive a big vehicle like this. Hell, if you want all that extra room and are willing to spend loads on gas, why not go all out and buy an RV? At least then you're saving rent or mortgage money!
2. Smoking - unless you are old enough to have picked up this habit before we knew how bad cigarettes are for our health, why would anyone even start smoking????? If you want to kill yourself slowing, there are other means, such as drinking, which won't drag the people around you down with you (well, at least not physically). And if you do want to kill others slowly, why not run for President, so you can initiate war on other countries as a means of torturing masses?
3. Survivor-like tv shows - I cannot think of any prize large enough to get me to do even half the shit that people do on these shows. And to be honest, I have no interest in watching other people engage in gross pranks either. Perhaps my disgust stems from my lack of interest in the collegiate Greek system and hazing.
4. Would it be redundant to say that I don't enjoy the greek system?
5. Prejudice - This is a serious one. Why can't we all just get along? Hell, I'm friends with people who smoke, drive SUV's, watch survivor, and people who have been in a sorority or fraternity, despite my sincere disdain for these activities. So get a grip, and love one another. Peace.
And in the interest of peace. I'll let this meme die here. Maybe I should have added memes to this list. ;-)

In my 'hood, people buy SUV's so they can roll them over on the roads and make me late for work. Smoking tends to burn your nose hairs. At least with drinking done right you're blotto and can burn to death while smoking without feeling the pain!! If you're inexperienced, the most you're going to do is burn off your clothes due to alcohol ignition!! As far as Survivor type shows are concerned, my personal stupidity is boundless. As far as 5, is concerned you can do what you want as long as you're not in my personal space. I'm for love, because it cuts down on the wrinkles (I'll let you "muse" over that one ).
i agree with all of them! i never thought much of #1 but i like how you put it and completely see your point.
i don't like prejudiced ppl too especially those who look down upon others. am tempted to smack them. ;)
