After we all gorged on C and MC's delicacies and nearly everyone had vacated our backyard, MC, C and I decided to take the dogs up to Corona Heights to watch the fireworks. This being C-dog's first display of fireworks since we adopted her, she nestled shakily in my lap (well, as best as an 80 pound dog can "nestle" into a lap). MC's dog Max was unfazed by the fireworks, but was more apprehensive about the onlookers. The fog finally rolled in thick enough to obscure the views we'd had of approximately five different displays (Jack London in Oakland, San Francisco's Embarcadero, Bay View/Hunter's Point, and various independent pyrotechnics shooting off in the Mission). So we headed home, gorged on some of the leftovers over cups of hot chocolate and then called it a night.
